Group Skate Classes
Our skate classes are designed for skaters of all ages and abilities.
Classes are drop-in (no registration required), but class participants must check in 10 minutes before class is scheduled to begin and have skates on and ready to start when class begins.
Cost of each class is $ 5.00, and includes a quad skate rental.
Skaters who are interested in furthering their skills towards competitive Artistic skating will learn basic skills required to pursue their goals.
Recreational skaters will learn skills that will increase their enjoyment of skating.
Advanced Class ***
Saturday 10:15 - 11:00 am (during public school year - September thru early June)
Monday 6:15 - 7:00 pm (year-round)
Students who have mastered the skills taught in the Intermediate Class will further their knowledge and learn advanced skating skills. The class will continue to work and build on figures and dances learned in the Intermediate Class, as well as receiving introduction in freestyle cross-pulls, basic jumps and spins. Upon successful completion of Advanced Class skills, students will be given the opportunity to join the Artistic Skate Club.
Beginner Class
Saturday 1:00 - 1:45 pm (during public school year - September thru early June)
Tuesday 6:00 - 6:45 pm (year-round)
Students will learn the basic fundamentals of skating. Balance, posture, safety, forward and backward skating, starting and stopping.
Intermediate Class **
Saturday 1:00 - 1:45 pm (during public school year - September thru early June)
Tuesday 6:00 pm - 6:45 pm (year-round)
Students who have mastered the basic skills taught in the beginner class will work on skills that will require greater balance and coordination. Students will learn to roll on one foot, both forward and backward, crossing, and turning forward to backward and backward to forward. The class will include an introduction to figures and dance.
** Students entering the Intermediate Class must have successfully mastered skills taught in the Beginner Class.
*** Students entering the Advanced Class must have successfully mastered skills taught in the Intermediate Class.
